For most clients, a course of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart gives the best result. Mild concerns may improve after 1–2 sessions, while deeper acne scars, pronounced texture or skin laxity may require 3–4 sessions. Maintenance treatment can usually be done once every 6–12 months, depending on your skin and goals.
You may notice smoother, fresher-looking skin within 1–2 weeks. More significant improvement develops gradually as new collagen and elastin are produced, usually becoming noticeable after 4–6 weeks. Results continue to improve for around 3–6 months after the treatment course.
Most clients have redness, mild swelling and a warm or tight feeling for 24–48 hours. Small pinpoint marks or mild dryness can remain for 2–4 days. In most cases, normal daily activities can be resumed the next day, although we recommend avoiding intense exercise, saunas, swimming, direct sun exposure and active skincare ingredients for the first few days.
Before the treatment, a topical numbing cream is usually applied for approximately 30–45 minutes. During the procedure, you may feel pressure, warmth and short pinching sensations, particularly around more sensitive areas such as the forehead, upper lip or jawline. Most clients describe the treatment as uncomfortable rather than painful, and the intensity can be adjusted to your comfort level.
RF Microneedling is particularly effective for post-acne concerns, including atrophic acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture and post-inflammatory marks. The treatment stimulates collagen remodelling underneath the skin, which can gradually soften depressed acne scars. It is not normally performed directly over active, inflamed or infected acne, so active breakouts should first be assessed and brought under control.
