Correction & Cover-Up
Existing permanent makeup may sometimes be refreshed or corrected. Old colour, shape and saturation are assessed first because removal may be preferable in some cases.

The appointment starts with a consultation to discuss the desired style, colour and overall effect.

For brows, lips or eyeliner, the design is mapped before pigmentation begins so the proposed shape can be reviewed in advance. The treatment area is then prepared and colour is implanted in controlled passes using the technique selected for that area.

Comfort measures may be used where appropriate. Immediately afterwards, the result normally appears stronger than the healed finish and mild redness or swelling can occur.

Aftercare instructions are provided before you leave.

Fresh permanent makeup looks more intense than the final result. As the area heals, the colour gradually softens and becomes more natural.

Temporary dryness, light flaking or minor tenderness can occur during the early healing period. The finished tone and pigment distribution become easier to assess over the following weeks.

Retention differs between individuals and is influenced by factors such as skin type, treatment area, lifestyle, sun exposure and skincare. A touch-up may be recommended after healing to refine density, colour or symmetry.

Over time, pigmentation gradually fades and maintenance sessions can be used to refresh the result.

Permanent makeup involves controlled penetration of the skin barrier, so hygiene, appropriate technique and correct aftercare are essential.

A session may need to be postponed when there is active infection, inflammation, damaged skin or another condition that could interfere with healing. Existing PMU should also be examined before correction or cover-up work.

Possible temporary reactions include swelling, redness, tenderness and uneven colour retention during healing. Less common complications can include allergic reactions, infection or scarring.
